Turkey Luxury Yacht Charter

When you say you are going on a Turkey Blue Voyage Cruise, people give you a strange look. Yachting in Turkey has become so affordable that is not just for princes anymore. Any family, church group, social group, for friends can charter a Turkish Yacht called a gullet for a week or more of pleasure sailing along the Turquoise Coast of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas.

A Blue Voyage is an idyllic holiday that can be as active or slow paced as one likes. The cruise consists of a Turkish gullet, crew, chef and some amenities.

The Yachts
The Yachts are built to a traditional design. The hulls are made of Taurus Pine. The yachts are generally 20 to 30 meters long and cut into four to eight cabins with private heads/showers. Some yachts will have eight smaller cabins. The rage the Bodrum, Turkey shipyards now is to have four luxurious cabins with sleigh beds and super nice linens and furnishings.

The decks are made of teak wood. The floors below are varnished and covered with Turkish Carpets. With a deep keel and usually two masts, the yachts are built to sail with the wind. The yachts may have one or two engines, generator and an air-conditioning system. Most contracts limit air-conditioning use to four hours per day. Some days when wind is not favorable the skipper may use the engines. The engines generate heat. The air conditioning will help remove the heat as evening comes. Remember the generator to run the AC makes noise. When docked at a marina the crew will hook up to shore power. Sill the AC makes noise, but it will help cool the yacht down for a good night’s sleep.

There is a dinning section on the aft deck and an indoor salon. Having a salon is nice because in inclement weather you can dine indoors. This is especially nice when sailing in the shoulder seasons of April or October.
The cabins are equipped with a toilet and usually a hand held shower that is small but functional. On the more luxurious yachts the bathrooms are larger too.

All yachts are equipped with some water toys such as kayaks, windsurfers, water skis etc. The toys vary with what the owners have. You may rent whatever you need to be happy from rental agencies in town before you blue voyage.

The Cost of a Turkey Blue Voyage

Yacht rental may be as low as Euro 750 per day for the yacht. A newer luxury yacht may run euro 3-5,000 per day. Add to that food which runs about euro 60 per person per day. Transfers, tips and any escorted shore trips, ie Ephesus from Didyma, Miletos or Caunos from English harbor. We will work with your budget to find a suitable gulet to fit your needs.

Cabin charters for a Turkey blue voyage are booked similar to a regular ocean cruise line.  In this case you may book a cabin on a scheduled weekly voyage.  The fare is about $700 to $1000 per person per week depending on the quality of the yacht.  There are lower priced companies, but we do not represent them.
