Hello.
Just to bring those interested up to speed on the Mandalay, she was purchased after auction from the agent by Frederico Meyer who runs sightseeing trips in the Galapagos. She will be converted into a 32 pax luxury vessel. From my sources; she will hauled, her complete hull repaired, the engine room will be totally rebuilt with new machinery, the deck cabins will be replaced with an enclosed saloon.
We were outbid after the auction, we had the money for the purchase but felt it unwise to bid further due to the extensive costs required to get her back into service. She is being crewed up as we speak and will go to Ecuador for her refit. Once finished she will be back to her magnificent self and I for one will go see her in her new cruising grounds.
