Southern Cross Timer Turkey Yacht Charter
Traditional Bodrum Gulet
First launched in 1981, Southern Cross Timer set a new standard for luxury gulets in her time. If these walls could talk, they would speak of ambassadors, presidents and royalty which have sailed on this beautiful gulet. Amanda Jones of the LA Times recently sailed on her on a Turkish yacht charter arranged by Tropical Sails Corp.
An extra feature is the spinnaker sail and the captain likes to use it. The SX Timer is known as a true sailing Turkish gulet. She participates in the Bodrum Cup each October and often wins in her class. October 2103 the Southern Cross Timer was happy to have three returning crew participants from 2012 join her again for the 25th Bodrum Jubilee Silver Cup regatta, as well as one new crew member from Belgium. She was even happier to come in first place in her category for leg 2 of the race from Turgutreis to Kos, and came in 7th overall. This year, the committee introduced a performance based rating system (BPR) which is used quite frequently worldwide especially in super yacht and mega yacht races. It is practical, simple and accurate enough to employ efficiently to yachts racing in the Bodrum Cup for more exact results, and it helped us get onto the podium.
An Economical Choice for up to 8 guests
With four double cabins (the forward two also have additional berths available), Southern Cross Timer is ideal for small groups of up to 8 persons. Her crew has separate sleeping accommodations. The four cabins share two heads with showers. She features a salon for inside dining and a large aft deck with a dining table and quality wooden deck chairs. There is a small selection of water toys ie masks, fins etc aboard. The beautiful wood flooring is covered with Turkish carpets.
The food is set from a high quality menu that changes with the seasons and market availability. The Turkish cuisine is very healthy and the dishes are prepared to exacting standards by your on-board chef. A Turkish breakfast, a lunch that is usually vegetarian, tea time and dinner are served daily.
For those clients who drink wine, the owners will host a wine tasting party upon embarkation. They will then supply your Turkish Gulet with wine at grocery store prices for the week.
