The path of the eclipse shadow March 9, 2016 crosses the vast area of Indonesia and the Java Sea, offering an interesting mix of unusual and exotic destinations together. Carefully selected micro-climate with promising weather prospects has been selected by expert astronomers. The eclipse crosses over the Java Sea and land in Indonesia, although with over 13,000 islands and many hundreds of different cultural and ethnic groups, this country offers unsurpassed diversity.

The eclipse starts when the shadow of the moon reaches the earth’s surface in the Indian Ocean west of Sumatra. The shadow then moves across Indonesia, the Java Sea and out into the Pacific Ocean, with a maximum eclipse duration of just over four minutes south of Guam and the track ends north of Hawaii.

The Jakarta Metropolitan City, with a population of around 10 million people, is one of the biggest cities in Far East Asia after Tokyo, Shanghai, and Bangkok.
One of the most popular sites in the Jakarta is the Old Batavia City, as most of the ancient buildings during the Dutch colonization are located in this area.
The first China Town in Indonesia can be found in Glodok. Just north of the town is the ancient Jakarta port called Sunda Kelapa, where the roots of Jakarta can be traced. Built during the Hindu Kingdom of Pajajaran, or Pasundan, this 500-year-old harbor was a vital link to markets of the outside world at the time.
As Jakarta is a historical city, relics of the ancient city is preserved at National Museum including old maps, antiques, Chinese porcelains, and under water prison. A drive passing the Presidential Palace, National Monument, and the Cathedral, can be arranged at the preference of the guests. (Breakfast)

DEPART HOTEL after breakfast and transfer to Jakarta airport where you will catch your domestic flight to Manado, two major islands away, and a 3 ½ hr flight to boot! Arrive Manado, transfer to the Novotel Golf Resort Hotel for two nights accommodation. The hotel provides an ideal base for the project and you will be able to join a couple of local excursions during your stay here. Manado is located on a wide bay surrounding the small island of Manado Tua, the core of a long extinct volcano. The bay around Manado Tua is dotted with small idyllic islets with magnificent coral reefs full of exotic sea life. Scuba divers are attracted here from all over the world and the underwater world is just as accessible for snorkelers. Manado also has a wide range of interesting local trips, including the wildlife tour of Tangkoko Rain Forest, a hike up an active volcano and a visit to the stone age cultures in the Minehasa Highlands. - March 9th, 2016 PALU
Eclipse Day— a short road trip of about one and a half hours south of Palu to a point a short distance north of the eclipse centerline. Our site on Sulawesi is in a river valley protected on either side by mountain ridges reaching up to 5,000ft. The high ground acts as a barrier to most of the prevailing weather systems, creating a dry “rain-shadow” in the valley. A local micro-climate like this is always a good feature!

For reservations and additional information, please call or email Tropical Sails Corp with questions and availability. A standard reservation form will eventually be required.
Deposit and Full Payment
For all bookings made more than 45 days prior to departure, a U.S. $600 per person deposit is required upon confirmation. Final payment is due at least 60 days prior to departure date. For reservations made for Tour and air travel under less than 60 days prior to departure of the tour, full payment will always be due upon confirmation. Tropical Sails Corp accepts credit cards via Pay Pay. Deduct 2% if paying by check or wire payment.
You may make changes to most air or land portions of your reservations any time before your actual travel documents are issued, however, these changes are generally accompanied by change fees imposed by either the airline or Tropical Sails consolidator, vendor/ supplier, such as hoteliers, touring coaches, restaurants, and activity providers. In addition to vendor change costs, Tropical Sails Corp requires a change fee of U.S. $25.00 per booking for each amendment made to a confirmed booking. Any change made after tickets or documents have been issued is subject to U.S. $50.00 administration fee which will be added to the ticket/document reissue fee.
After a reservation has been made, the following cancellation charges, per person, become “In Effect “:
Up to 60 days prior to departure: 50% of Deposit will be returned.
60-45 Days Prior to Departure 300.00*
44-15 Days Prior to Departure: $500.00* PLUS any costs incurred by supplier’s penalties.
14-7 Days Prior to Departure or Less: $1,000.00* PLUS any costs incurred by supplier’s penalties.
7 Days to Day of departure or After: No Refund by Tropical Sails Corp
After departure, any unused portions of any tour itinerary, including hotel accommodations, sightseeing tours, extra hotel nights, airfare or other items included in the tour are non-refundable. Therefore the purchase of Trip Cancellation insurance is highly recommended, you may purchase insurance on Tropical Sails Corp’s website.
Tropical Sails Corp accepts credit cards via Pay-Pal. Deduct 2% if paid by check or wire.
We strongly recommend that you insure your vacation against cancellation or unexpected expenses incurred as a result of an accident, illness, or personal tragedy etc.
It is the responsibility of each passenger to obtain a passport, which at time travel commences must be valid for at least six months. It is also the sole responsibility of the passenger to procure /obtain all required visas for the country/countries to be visited. As the Visa entry requirements are subject to change, please consult your travel agent and/or local consulates/ embassies on visa requirements.
Currently, no health requirements exist for visiting countries in Asia. However, as these requirements are subject to change, please consult your travel agent or local health department.

Transfers and sightseeing by ANY or a combination of the following:
Destination country domestic air fares, private auto, motor coach, or seat-in-coach, as specified in the itinerary. All admissions and entrance fees to places visited, as per the itinerary.
Room accommodation is provided at the hotels indicated or at hotels of comparable categories, in run-of-house category, unless otherwise indicated. Accommodation is based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded room with private bath. Single rooms are available upon payment of a single room supplement.
Provided As indicated in the itinerary, and are based on table d’hote (set) menu, unless otherwise indicated.
Planning and Operation Cost
All tour planning and operation costs are included in tour rates quoted. Every effort has been made to produce pricing information accurately. We reserve the right to correct errors.

Tips and Taxes
All local taxes and tips on room accommodation, porterage, and meals are included in the cost of the tour, except airport taxes and gratuities to local guides.
Documentation costs, foreign airport taxes, U.S. departure tax, U.S. Immigration and Customs User Fees, September 11th Security tax, Airport Facility charges, security charges, fuel surcharges, excess baggage charges, optional sightseeing tours not specifically included in the itinerary, laundry, insurance, or any other item of a personal nature not specifically mentioned herein.
Every effort will be made to ensure that each package follows the contents of the itinerary. However, on occasion, conditions or situations beyond our control may require a necessary last-minute change.

Tropical Sails Corp act only as agent for the suppliers of yacht tours, accommodations, food and other goods and services provided to the participant. All arrangements to transport, accommodate and other services are made upon the express conditions that Tropical Sails Corp and its agents shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect consequential or incidental damage, injury, loss, accident, delay or irregularity of any kind occasioned by reason or any act or omission beyond its control, including without limitation, any act or negligence or breach of contract by any third party, such as airline, cruise line, hotel, ground handler, etc., who is to or does supply any good or service to the tour. Itinerary and schedule is subject to he Captain’s or leader discretion, wind, weather and/or road conditions. Those paying by credit card to be cleared by Tropical Sails Corp must use Pay Pal and a surcharge may apply. Credit card use terms for other suppliers are subject to their terms. Traveler’s Accident, Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance is available from Tropical Sails Corp.
