Shanghai China Video
“This is Shanghai” from Rob Whitworth depicts the colors, sights and the energy of Shanghai, China. With over 20 million people, she is the largest city in China, and one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. Located on China’s central eastern coast at the mouth of the Yangtze River, the municipality of the People’s Republic of China has reached province-level status. Many of Tropical Sails and our partners tours begin or end in Shanghai.
The ever-present Oriental TV Tower seems to be a star of the video. Tropical Sails tour group of 2009 spent the better part on an afternoon atop the tower.
We see a barge on river and a night boat on river. We took a group on a night river cruise. It was sweltering in August, but the lights were amazing. My camera could not capture the neon glow everywhere.
The traffic is always a problem. Our guides would tell us the next stop (restaurant etc) is 15 minutes away. Nothing is 15 minutes away in Shanghai.
The videographer follows a taxi and takes a quick peek down the tower at the Hyatt Hotel, onto shopping and dumplings. I went up the Hyatt Hotel in 2011 with a group and took that same picture.
