The first tomb in India to be built entirely of white marble, its vibrant paintings and mosaics remain in meticulous condition. The tomb is highly ornate with elaborate carvings and glorious pietra dura (stone inlay) depicting cypresses, wineglasses, and a variety of geometrical arabesque. Set in a small, tranquil garden on the banks of the Yamuna, the tomb resembles an enlarged, intricate jewel box.
