Day 00) DEPART USA FOR TURKEY TO FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF PAUL

Day 01) ARRIVE    ISTANBUL                                                                          Transfer to hotel. International flights from the USA with connections in Europe usually arrive anytime between noon and 11:00 pm.  The balance of your day, should you have an earlier arrival time, is yours to sleep or walk the neighbor-hood.

Day 01) ISTANBUL-ADANA
Morning touring of Istanbul including Galeta Tower and İstiklal Cad. neighborhood as time permits before transfer to the domestic terminal for a flight to Adana. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Adana.

Day 02) ADANA-ANTAKYA-ADANA
Visit Tarsus, birthplace of St. Paul. “I am a Jew born in Tarsus in Cilicia” (Acts:22:3). Then continue for Antioch where the followers of Jesus were first called Christians (Acts:11:26). Continue to the famous Mosaic Museum and a brief visit to Seleucia Peria, where St. Paul and St.Barnabas embarked for Cyprus on their first missionary journey (Acts:13:4). Dinner and overnight in Adana.

Day 03) ADANA-CAPPADOCIA
After breakfast depart from Cappadocia. On the way visit Eski Gumus Monastery, one of the finest in the region. Proceed to Kaymakli; an immense rock carved underground city. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 04) CAPPADOCIA
Full day exploring Cappadocia, the land of saints and early Christians. Visit Goreme Open Air Museum with St.Basil’s Chapel, the Church of St.Barbaras and Sandal Church. Proceed to Uchisar for pottery ateliers and rug weavers. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 05) CAPPADOCIA-KONYA-PISIDAN ANTIOCH-PAMUKKALE
Longest drive of the tour. Early morning departure for Konya. St. Paul and St.Barnabas both preached here in a synagogue. The city was the home of the whirling dervishes in the 12th century. Visit the Mevlana Mausoleum and his museum. Continue to Pisidan Antioch. It was here that St. Paul changed world history by opening Christianity to the pagan world. Visit the church of St. Paul, the Roman theater and the Temple of August. Drive to Pamukkale in the late afternoon. Enjoy a leisurely bath in the warm mineral water of your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 06) PAMUKKALE-KUSADASI
Morning visit to Pamukkale once known as the ancient Roman thermal city of Hierapolis. The Martyrium of St.Philip the Apostle occurred here. Tour the beautiful, snow-white “frozen waterfalls” see the Roman thermal baths, theater, main streets, gates and Necropolis. Drive to Laodicea, visit the ruins. Next visit Mount Honaz National Park and the Biblical site of Colossea. After lunch, drive to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 07) KUSADASI-EPHESUS-KUSADASI
Visit the unforgettable classical remains of Ephesus where St. Paul spent 27 months. Drive to Virgin Mary’s House, on a wooded hilltop which was miraculously discovered. Finally visit Ephesus Archeological Museum and St. John’s Basilica. Return to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 08) KUSADASHI-BODRUM                                                                                                                                                                               On the way to Bodrum, we make brief stops at Didyma and Miletos.  Once in Bodrum, you will board your yacht and store your luggage. You will have a short time to grab a bite to eat ashore before you sail to a remote anchorage for dinned aboard your yacht.                                           ( B , D )

Day 09-14) BODRUM-BODRUM                                                                                                                                                                                          Switching over from the footsteps of Paul to the waters of St. Paul, after settling in your yacht, you will sail and relax for a week sailing the waters St. Paul sailed three times.  You will sail in a wooden yacht built to an ancient design, only with modern amenities.  Days will be spent touring the shores containing many archeological sites. The afternoons will be spent swimming in crystal blue waters, followed by tea time.  Great meals  served family style.   ( B , L, D* )   *5 dinners, two nights your will dine ashore on your own.                                                                                                                                                     

Day 15) BODRUM-ISTANBUL
Morning flight to Istanbul, the only city in the world spanning two continents. Visit St.Sophia Museum which is one of the worlds greatest architectural marvels and a designated World Heritage site. Visit Blue Mosque with its beautiful Iznik tiles; the Roman Hippodrome; the fabled Topkapi Museum, the imperial residence of the Ottoman Sultans between the 16th and 19th centuries. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight. (Suggested for groups is Turkish night. Turkish floor-show, dinner and belly dancers)

Day 16) ISTANBUL
In the morning visit the Church of Chora, with the best remaining examples of Byzantine frescoes which survive today. Cruise on the Bosphorus viewing the fortresses, the palaces, mosques and old wooden traditional villas on the shore on both Asian and European sides. After lunch visit the Grand Covered Bazaar with it’s 4000 shops. Return to your hotel. (A dinner cruise may be taken in evening in lieu of daytime cruise. Grand Covered Bazaar is closed on Sundays.  Itinerary will be adjusted in the planning stage for groups)

Day 17) ISTANBUL-End of Footsteps of Paul tour
Transfer to Istanbul Airport for your flight home.
