THE TURKISH GULET The clear blue waters of the sunny Mediterranean are beckoning you to a dream holiday in a Turkish yacht. Turkish gulets were originally built for use by fisherman and sponge divers. Today they are luxuriously designed especially for chartered holiday. Their large, uncluttered decks are ideal for sunbathing and dining. These gracious and elegant motor sailors, built of wood in traditional style, range from 18 to 30 meters in length and can accommodate 8 to 20 persons in spacious a Twin-berthed or Double-berthed cabins. Quarters for the crew are completely separate with private facilities and entrance at the fore. LIFE ON BOARD Good sailing, good food, and friendly company surrounded by nature in a serene atmosphere - That is what chartered sailing is all about. A sailing holiday aboard a gulet appeals to all age groups. It can be as relaxing or as energetic an experience as desired. You may leave everything to the skipper and crew or choose to join in the running of the boat. The crew will cook for you unless you wish to prepare especially dish for your party. One day you may decide to read a book while sipping a drink and sunning on deck. A more active day may include windsurfing, fishing or when the yacht is at anchor in a beautiful cove, hiking in the woods or swimming and snorkeling amid schools of fish and ancient under water ruins. THE CREW There's no need for you to be an experienced yachtsman. Your captain and crew are experienced seafarers, usually local Turkish people, Who know the cruising grounds in and out and will share their knowledge, skill and local lore with you. In addition to running the sails safely and according to the itinerary you have chosen, they are prepared to assist and pamper you in every way, from suggesting suitable anchorages and arranging shore excursions to serving you cocktails and three delicious meals a day. You are in charge of choosing the dream voyage you desire for your party! TERMS TO KNOW There are three ways to go on a Turkish Blue Voyage. A "cabin charter" is booked just like a love boat cruise. You reserve a cabin on one of the yachts that sail a fixed itinerary each week. This is your least expensive way to go. They yachts are usually older and classified as "standard" or class three. Occasionally we have access to higher quality yachts should you desire it. A yacht charter means that you take the whole boat. This is great if you have 12-18 people. You pick the itinerary. The quality is "deluxe or superior." An air conditioned yacht generally costs about $500 a day extra. We do not charter standard class yachts. A land/sea combination will include a first class land/coach tour and blue cruise in a deluxe or superior yacht. Full board means 20/21 meals per week and half board means 17-18 meals per week. |
