RAIL TO TIBET AND ROAD TO MT. EVEREST 15 days

Day 1 Arrive in Shanghai, meet the local guide and transfer to check in the hotel. O/N Shanghai. |

Day 2/3 You will see something of its history at the Shanghai Museum. Then visit the Yuyuan Garden. Next comes The Bund. After dinner a walk on the Bund to see the night scene along the river. Take the flight to Beijing. Visit the Great Wall. After lunch you will visit Located on the southern slope of the highest peak of Tianshou Mountain, the Changling Tomb. 2 nights Beijing.

Day 4/5 Today visit Forbidden City. Evening flight to Xi’an. Day 5 to visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum. In the afternoon visit Great Mosque built in 742 during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). 2 nights in Xian.

Day 6 Take the morning flight to Xining. Meet the local guide and transfer to visit Tibet Medicine Museum and in the afternoon take train to Lhasa. O/N train.

Day 7/8 In the afternoon arrive Lhasa, transfer to hotel and have a rest in the hotel. Day 8 visit the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. Then walk through the colorful bazaar on Barkhor Street. 2 nights in Lhasa.

Day 9 Visit Yamdroktso (4441m), one of Tibet’s three holy lakes, is located 110km outside of Lhasa. O/N Shigatse.

Day 10 Miles away from Shigaste, you can already see the gold tops of Tashilhunpo shinning under the sun. Shegar, also known as New Tingri, is the last stop before Everest Base Camp. O/N Baiba.

Day 11 Although it’s just 100km from Shegar to Base Camp (5200m), it takes about 4 hours since the cracked winding roads demand much caution. The best moments to watch Mt. Everest are early morning and late evening when Everest is shining like a goddess in the sunglow. O/N Base Camp |

Day 12 This morning we will get back on the Friendship highway and continue our amazing journey. We will back to Shigaste, takes us to the second largest city in Tibet. O/N Shigatse.

Day 13 Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery. Then continue drive back to Lhasa. O/N Lhasa.

Day 14 Free in the morning. In the afternoon take the flight to
Shanghai. Check in the hotel when arrival. O/N Shanghai.

Day 15 Transfer to airport, end of service. |
