Day 1 Arrive Kunming. Sightseeing depending upon arrival times and O/N Kunming.

Day 2/3 Fly to Lijiang, ancestral home of the Naxi people. Be introduced to the Naxi's Dongba culture, explore this beautiful World Heritage Listed town, enjoy local food, dancing and music. Stroll in the back streets and see how people live. Relax in Black Dragon Pool Park, one of the most beautiful in China and cable car to the top of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. 2 nights in Lijiang.

Day 4 Drive to Shangri-la (Zhongdian), visit Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest in the world and through which the Yangtze thunders. At Shangri la visit Songzanlin Tibetan Buddhist Monastery designed as a smaller version of Lhasa's Potala Palace. O/N Shangri-la. |

Day 5 Drive the Yunnan - Tibet road passing the upper reaches of the Yangtze and through the Eastern Himalayan Peaks, to the Baima Snow mountain Nature Reserve and visit the stunning Dongzhulin Monastery. O/N Shangri-la.

Day 6 Shangri-la to Xiangcheng, 330km, 7-8 hours. A long high country drive through mountain passes and valleys of this Tibetan region. O/N Xiangcheng.

Day 7 Drive to the spectacular Yading Nature Reserve, the home of three sacred Tibetan mountains all about six thousand meters. O/N Riwa.

Day 8 Explore further into the Nature Reserve by foot, electric cart and horse (a 9 hour round trip-moderate grade) and O/N Riwa.

Day 9 A long drive to Xinduqiao, a paradise for photographers, through very high country (about 4,000 m), mix with Khampas, the local Tibetans in Litang, 230km, 6-7 hours. O/N Litang |

Day 10 From Litang the road winds east out of the mountains as we drive to Kangding. O/N Kangding (6-7 hours drive, 280km).

Day 11 We make our way to Chengdu, 5-6 hours, 360km, the capital of Sichuan. O/N Chengdu. |

Day 12 Visit the world famous Panda Breeding Center and later drive to the incredible Dujiangyan Irrigation System. This ancient wonder was built in the 3rd Century B.C. and is still operational today. O/N Chengdu |

Day 13 After breakfast drive to airport where tour finishes, except for those fully escorted guests who fly to Hong Kong for the onward flight home. |
